Christopher McCann

Dundee, UK

My name is Christopher McCann, and I am passionate about building startups with global aspirations that can make positive change to peoples lives.

In July 2014, I founded snap40. We are developing a patient health early warning system for the hospital and community. This uses a wearable medical device that continuously monitors an individuals health across a wide range of indicators. Sensed information is transmitted wirelessly and then centrally analysed in real-time to detect the signs and patterns that pre-empt deteriorations in health. We then push notifications of these to healthcare staff, allowing them to bring attention the patient earlier. This will save lives, reduce patient length of stay and reduce stress on resources.

I founded my first company, Dizeo, in 2010 with a vision to provide all 8 to 13 year olds with a safe place to learn about social networking and the internet. We received £100,000 of investment and grew to employ eight people before unfortunately closing in 2011.

I graduated with a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde in 2010, before starting a medical degree at the University of Dundee in 2012.

I would love to hear from you.
