Chris Van Dusen is currently a Senior Partner at Solyco Capital. Solyco Capital is a Vertically Integrated PE/VC, Action Services, Public & Private Wealth Investment Firm that delivers capital solutions for late stage startup and growth companies. We have a unique combination of elite operational strength equating to $40B in transaction experience. Our model is to analyze and operationally execute for deep impact, building a portfolio asset by asset, vs focusing on category asset management. We lead with our money and time to prove late-stage startup/early-stage growth opportunities before we deploy investor capital.

Chris Van Dusen is a marketing and growth professional with extensive early stage and capitalization experience. Chris launched a marketing agency Parcon LLC, was a partner in an Orange County liquor distillery Surf City Still Works and is formally the CGO (Chief Growth Officer) of Balanced Health Botanicals (BHB) in Denver, CO.

An expert at navigating the challenges of an industry with many roadblocks, he allocated a budget of ~$20 million to lead a diverse team of marketers focused on democratizing CBD and making BHB the largest supplier of hemp-derived CBD in the world. Chris’ implemented strategy supported company growth both DTC and brick and mortar retail, which reflects unparalleled growth in 2019 and navigated the ever shifting landscape of COVID-19 in 2020. This culminated into a $75mm sale of BHB to Village Farms (NASDAQ: VFF) in August 2021.

At the same time Chris built BHB into a CPG powerhouse in the CBD space, he orchestrated the the rapid growth and capitalization of Surf City Still Works. Chris scaled marketing efforts, retained the largest spirits distributor in the country (Souther Glazier) and raised $3.7mm to move SCSW into a 25,000 sq ft manufacturing facility – the first of its kind in Orange County, CA and scaled retail and DTC growth. This effort led to a merger with Kimo Sabe, a mezcal company out of Los Angeles.

Chris has his Bachelors degree from the College of William and Mary in Economics. He is active in the community and has held a variety of board seats on institutions like the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA) and the Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF). In addition to the non-profit work, Chris is a member of Alder and has traveled extensively speaking on a variety of topics.
