Chyna Teresa Trible, M.S.

Instructor, Volunteer, and Consultant in New York

Take my class

I am blessed to be able to combine many of my interests in sports, media, public relations, writing, public speaking, and all things communication as I teach Communication and English courses (Sports Communication (my newly developed curriculum), Human Communication (interactive), Business Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, & Mass Communication) at colleges in upstate NY. In addition to my instruction, I research in the above-mentioned areas to help advance the discipline and improve my classroom instruction, particularly in using emerging technologies, when relevant, to enhance classroom pedagogical learning outcomes.

VOLUNTEER:

I share my love for life through volunteering in myriad capacities. These include serving as a summer soccer camp coach for my high school alma mater and as an instructor of Latin / root words for a local, private elementary school. I also enjoy teaching religious education classes and offering communication consulting for educational and nonprofit organizations.

HOBBIES/OTHER:

My garden is my oasis; you can find me there daily in the summer months and dreaming of living much farther south in the winter! I love (understatement) attending sporting events, especially for my favorite teams (#BuffaloBills #FloridaGators). I thrive when I am around happy, intelligent people who challenge me to become a better version of myself.

INTERESTING ACADEMIC PAPERS / PRESENTATIONS:

*Pilot study presentation on the rhetoric of fan worship - sport as a religious spectacle at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.
*A conference presentation in Athens Greece on the relationship between sports fan identification and intention to take action to protect against diseases.
*Graduate poster/paper/presentation at the RIT's Graduate Research and Creativity Conference, which analyzed advertising campaigns during times of economic hardships
*Undergraduate thesis research on reality TV and viewers reported attributions of stereotypes published in conference proceedings

MY EDUCATION:

Education is something I have always valued immensely thanks to inspiration from my grandfather. May he rest in peace and always be alive in me as I share my love for Communication and education with each student in my classroom!
