Cindy Juárez-Choza

Cindy serves as Principal at the Juarez Journal & Consulting, where she is contracted for tasks for the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health and SAMHSA. Previously, Cindy served as the Director of Youth MOVE National. In these positions, she has proved her ability to impact change nationwide in areas such as increasing membership, expanding resources, developing products, and more. She has led youth development groups, served as a mentor, developed trainings & technical assitance tools that directly impact youth, families, and professionals. Areas of focus include child and youth mental health advocacy, youth engagement and empowerment, cultural competence, violence prevention & intervention, developing youth groups & organizations, recovery & substance use disorder advocacy. Cindy has served as a keynote speakers and conference presenter and organizer, among other things.

Cindy has direct lived experience as a mental health consumer & family member, recovery services consumer, domestic violence survivor, eating disorders, and parent of a child with autism. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Born in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan, Cindy is a first-generation Latina (El Salvador), now residing in Los Angeles, CA.

  • Wraparound coordinator for families of children and youth with mental health needs (systems of care)
  • Outreach worker for a violence prevention program,
  • Executive assistant to a CEO of a national Latino youth focused non-profit
  • Recruitment & workforce development manager for a transition program for youth with mental health needs
  • Early childhood educator through a before & after school program.

Cindy is also a Co-Founder of Chi Iota Pi Sorority, Inc., and is Co-Captain of Team Little Lions: Autism Advocates
