Claire Sweet

From his first position as a staff pharmacist at a local pharmacy to his most recent role as a Director for a Fortune 500 company, Claire Sweet has consistently leveraged his managerial abilities to develop business opportunities and strengthen operations. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in pharmacy and minored in communication arts, Claire Sweet first demonstrated his aptitude for pharmacy management at the Walgreens retail unit in La Crosse, Wisconsin. As Assistant Manager and the pharmacist in charge, he developed and implemented an initiative to increase sales growth by servicing nursing homes in the area. The operation proved so successful that Walgreen Co. opened a new retail division in La Crosse and asked Claire Sweet to serve as its first manager. During his three-year tenure as Manager of the Walgreens Advance Care unit in La Crosse, Claire Sweet oversaw the daily operations of a site created specifically for his team. In 1996, he received a promotion to Regional Director and took on the additional task of managing stores in Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Minnesota. In this role, Claire Sweet reported directly to the Chief Executive Officer and supervised sales, budgets, and growth in the three states, which in combination generated half of the division’s revenues. Walgreen Co. sold the Advance Care division to NCS Healthcare, Inc. in 1997, and Claire Sweet went on to manage Wisconsin operations for the nationally expanding company. After spending several years as a manager and a year as State Executive Director-Wisconsin for NCS HealthCare, Claire Sweet opened Pinnacle Pharmacy in La Crosse and managed on-site operations before the store’s acquisition by Omnicare, Inc., a Fortune 500 company. Omnicare offered him the opportunity to oversee the merge of its La Crosse properties, and he advanced in 2008 to assume responsibility for all Wisconsin accounts as Omnicare’s Director of Customer Development.
