When Claudia founded Shark Truth in 2009, she had eaten shark fin at a family dinner banquet only weeks before. A first generation Chinese-Canadian, she realized the power of using cross-cultural storytelling to invoke change in her community for marine conservation. Her personal vision is to bring diversity to social change by supporting her ethnic youth community in becoming the awesomeness that they are.

Under her leadership, Shark Truth has been awarded as a Tides Top 10 for effective, forward-thinking vision and real-world impact. Claudia has been named an Influential Canadian Millennial by HuffingtonPost.ca, Top 30 Under 30 by Explore Magazine, one of The Starfish's Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25, and a GLOBE Next Gen Entrepreneur, among many others for her work and dedication.

A speaker on leadership, communications, and the point where culture meets environment, Claudia has guest lectured at Simon Fraser University, Kwantlen Polytech, Langara College, and New York University. Claudia has also presented at the International Marine Conservation Congress, Rotary District Conferences, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S.' Youth Leadership program.

Claudia is an active citizen, volunteering her time outside of work to encourage youth to get to the polls on election day.

Heritage, art, and the great outdoors are the heart of Claudia's drive. She likes to jam in the kitchen with YeeYee Mah (aunt no. 2) testing out old family recipes, camp, and climb rocks. She is an avid traveler, sometimes on a train heading to who-knows-where writing bad poetry and standup jokes.
