Clay Valverde

Clay Valverde, Attorney at Law, possesses more than 15 years of experience as a civil litigator, client representative, and legal advisor. Mr. Valverde received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Irvine, studying from 1989 to 1991 and graduating cum laude. Clay Valverde entered Stanford Law School in 1991 and earned his Juris Doctor in 1994. During his time at Stanford Law, Mr. Valverde worked as an Associate Editor for one of the school's multiple publications, the Stanford Environmental Law Journal.

As he began his professional career as a practitioner of law, Clay Valverde moved from California to Honolulu, Hawaii. From 1995 to 1998, he worked in civil litigation as an Associate Attorney for two law offices, Elisha Ekimoto & Harada and Ashford & Wriston, LLP. Mr. Valverde accepted a position as Adjunct Professor at Chaminade University in 1998, and until 2010 he taught law and legal procedure courses to undergraduates for the university's Criminal Justice and Criminology Program.

A year after he took up his teaching post, Clay Valverde opened his private practice in Honolulu. With the responsiveness and flexibility allowed by this endeavor, Mr. Valverde represented a broad range of clientele and worked on a Hawaii insurance law recodification project with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs. Clay Valverde also represented businesses and individuals in the areas of real estate, bankruptcy, and insurance. He composed drafts of motions, pleadings, discovery, appellate briefs, and miscellaneous memoranda and negotiated the terms of various deeds, assignments, leases, and contracts.

Currently, Clay Valverde works as an Associate Attorney with Motooka Yamamoto & Revere, a flourishing law firm located in the heart of Honolulu. At Motooka Yamamoto & Revere, he focuses on foreclosures and real estate litigation, as well as community association representation.
