In Luke 24, we are introduced to two men on their way to Emmaus. Along the way, the resurrected Christ joins in their conversation and journey. At first, these two men don't realize it is Jesus - the one they were discussing before He interrupted them. It wasn't until Jesus joined the two men in the breaking of bread that they finally realized it was Jesus. Jesus revealed Himself to these men in a very mundane, yet very intimate ritual. The Emmaus Element is really just a collection of my experiences, in my journey to know Jesus more and see how He reveals Himself in everyday life. I believe Jesus reveals HImself to all people, but I also don't think we take note of Him when it happens. Often through culture, remnants of His good news are displayed. We have several avenues of communication today than ever before, and each medium can be used for His means. His message is often carried out through literature, film, tv shows, family members, relationships, even trite office tasks - we just need to lift the veil from our own eyes.
Cody Phillips is a graduate of Oral Roberts University where he majored in Communications. Cody has worked alongside many churches and pastors in various roles. He is also the former Managing Editor and contributing writer of The Experience Magazine. He is a nerd at heart, speaker, teacher, podcast host and life-long student. But the label he cherishes the most is "Phillips". He doesn't claim to be a deep philosopher or theologian, but desires to see how Jesus can blow His people away in the mundane of life. All he claims is a desire to grow in relationship and know Jesus more everyday.
