Colin Mason

I’m a photographer, musician, writer, and human rights activist who originally hails from Lynchburg, VA. I’ve literally been interested in filmmaking all my life (seriously, my entire life, I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t). In 2005, I formed Mirandum Pictures with my friend and colleague Mike Powell. I directed Mirandum Pictures’ freshman effort, Discretion, wrote and directed the short film noir Bronze Apollo, and provided photography on nearly all of Mirandum Picture’s films to date. In addition, I’ve filmed documentaries all around the world, including the Phillipines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Colombia, Peru and Russia.

In 2009, after a life-changing human rights trip to China, I started doing still photography as an alternative art form, and fell head over heels in love with it. Ever since then, I do both film and photography and love every minute of both.
