Tim Collins is a retired Human Resources executive, with more than 30 years of service at two top-tier companies, Procter & Gamble and IBM.
He has traveled to 50+ countries and lived in the UK for three years as an expatriate. Tim has been certified as a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), the world’s largest HR certification organization. After retiring from IBM, Tim had three “encore careers.” For three years, he was a major gifts fundraising officer for Transylvania University, a well-regarded liberal arts college in Lexington, KY. For one year, he was Director of HR at Kanuga Conferences in Hendersonville, NC. He finished his working career with three years as an Executive Consultant, Talent + Culture for Craft HR Solutions, Inc.
Tim is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Asheville Seniors, a community orientation and engagement program offered by the University of North Carolina Asheville Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The UK-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust awarded him a WSET Level 1 award in wines. He is a member of the boards of Blue Ridge Public Radio, the NPR affiliate for 16 counties in Western North Carolina; the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation Board of Trustees; and the Buncombe County (NC) Planning Board.
Originally from Canton, Ohio, Tim has lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lexington, Kentucky, Oxford, Ohio, Newport, Kentucky, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom, New York City, and Asheville, NC. Along with Tom Wolff, his spouse of 25 years, and dog Bandit, Tim lives in North Asheville.
