Connie Du
On the Dean's list for all four years, Connie Du recently graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Business. During the summer of 2009, Connie Du studied Classical Myths of Paris abroad. Prior to enrolling in the University of Maryland, she studied business at the University of Pittsburgh, where she maintained a 3.6 GPA and also made the Dean’s list.
While she pursued her undergraduate degree, Connie Du worked at the Columbia Association in Maryland when she acted as a Front Desk Associate at one of the organization’s three health and fitness clubs. Ms. Du boosted customer satisfaction by coordinating with other staff members to improve service, answered customers’ questions and concerns about the facility, and assisted in placing workout equipment where surveyed customers indicated they’d like it. In addition, Connie Du served as a volunteer Intern for the Friends Foundation in Annapolis, Maryland, where she aided with fundraising events by ensuring attendees could input suggestions regarding activities and tailoring the events to their requests. She also maintained mailing lists for the organization as well as composed and delivered invitations to various charity events. As an Intern for HMA Associates, Inc., in Washington, D.C., in 2010, Connie Du wrote creative briefs for public service announcements, edited government proposals, and helped develop presentations that illustrated the importance of using social media in marketing.
Prior to pursuing her undergraduate degree, Connie Du served FD NeuroTechnologies, Inc., in Catonsville, Maryland, as a Marketing Assistant. She aided the marketing team in creating advertisements, developed an efficient mailing system of advertisements, and analyzed marketing strategies’ effects on revenue through the analysis of company growth rate and sales data.
Today Connie Du acts as an Assistant Consultant for Thirteen Public Relations & Consulting, a New York boutique firm that specializes in food and beverage brands, lifestyle products and services, and startup organizations. She enjoys a wide range of responsibilities, including conducting market research, assisting with marketing campaigns, drafting press releases, and maintaining client and industry relations.
