I formed Not Just Crafty in July/August 2013. Due to personal issues at work and other areas of my life I started to craft more and more for stress relief. I soon re-discovered my artistic ability to paint,draw and design. I think this stems from once being caught at the front of the school chalking on the brick work at lunch time.....as lunch times in senior schools were a little....boring!

I started off producing cards and attended classes with Phill Martin who is a local artist/tv craft presenter. This then lead to creating paper boxes, bags, tags and flowers.

As I gained in confidence I started to look at alternative recycled material working with Wood, glass and stone.

I soon discovered there were lots of people just like me also struggling to make a living and I decided to host a few events to help other crafty businesses while also raising money for local charities. I raised money for Marie Curie and last year Age Concern through my annual Craft Garden Party event, where we had over 40 stalls of crafters selling their handcrafted goods and home baked cakes and jams.

My future projection would be to help give opportunities to unskilled, or unemployed and crafters by offering courses and experience for those wanting a new direction in life.
