Craig Anthony Perkins
Composer, Photographer, and Filmmaker in Land of Enchantment
An Autodidact Polymath; award winning Filmmaker, Film & TV Composer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Photographer and Designer Craig Anthony Perkins began as a musician at the age of four (starting on the drums like his Father, picking up guitar by age 8; bass, keyboards and everything else by age 13) a magician at the age of six, and became interested in photography and filmmaking at a very early age as well.
In the past Craig has worked in both a creative and technical capacity within the entertainment industry for companies such as Philips Media, Universal Interactive Studios and AVID, doing everything from video game design, data wrangling and technical writing, to film post production, location sound recording, sound design and music composing.
Under his own company Genshi Media Group, he has released several albums on the iTunes Music Store (through his record label ZERO:GENSHI Records), has had his photography published in magazines and exhibited in galleries, his short films showcased in film festivals worldwide (with two of his films actually winning) and has designed indie art toys (through his toy label GENSHI:TOY) - including the much sought-after Broken Heart Robot - which has led to talks with a few TV networks (including Cartoon Network and Disney TV) for consideration as an animated series based on his toy character.
Recently, Craig scored the music to his first feature film for the SyFy Channel which was followed up by two more features for Amazon Prime. He was also one of several innovative performing modular artists interviewed in the documentary "Patch Controlling Voltage" currently on Amazon Prime; his music was also part of the film's score.
Presently, while continuing to work with his filmmaking, music composing and photography, Craig is working with his new tech start-up genshi.lab with the goal of bringing innovative concepts to consumer products through cutting-edge design and technology. In addition, genshi.lab has a long term goal of opening it's doors to both kids and adults alike, as an educational Makerspace specializing in the concepts of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).
And finally, you can catch Craig performing live with his experimental, cinematic, ambient music project under the name genshi, and as Science Patrol, performing 1970s and 80s style "Berlin-school" analog synth music.
