My name is Cristina Lanz Azcarate and I am a a designer in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

My speciality is architecture and design is the tool I use to help my clients better their quality of life.

To me, being part of the Built Environment is a responsibility full of potential and this potential inspires me and helps me remain passionate about my work.

As well as my day job, since 2013 I have participated in variety of initiatives designed to make our industry more reflective of the communities we design and build for.

I have been a speaker at schools through Inspiring the Future and a Mentor at Fluid Mentoring -by Built by Us- for nearly a decade and until March 2022 (since 2013) I was also the Chair of the London and Southeast region of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Since 2017, I also sit at RIBA’s EDI Expert Advisory Group and London Mayor Design Advocate Organisation, Architects for Change and most recently I have become a mentor within the Women in Architecture's programme.

By the way, although Cristina Lanz Azcarate is my name you can find me on social media as Burutapen (which in Basque means intuition)
