I am a freelance technical writer and network engineer for Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University.  I primarilly focus on IEEE 802.11 wireless technologies, but I also support our security and application appliances.

I am a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of Westerville Council 5776.

I am a Technician Class licensed Amateur Radio Service operator. My call sign is KD8SMY.  I am an active member of Central Ohio ARES.

I am the author of Pro Open Source Mail: Building an Enterprise Mail Solution (Apress, 2006. 448pp.).

Past experience includes wireless networking, Linux system administration, and SAN administration for the Max M. Fisher College of Business, and wireless networking and Linux system administration for the rural ISP SOTA Technologies.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from The Ohio State University, majoring in Philosophy.
