I am a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of Westerville Council 5776.

I am a registered adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, the Scoutmaster of Scouts BSA Troop 247 for boys, and a Committee Member with Scouts BSA Troop 7365 for girls.

I am a Technician Class licensed Amateur Radio Service operator. My call sign is KD8SMY. I am a member of Central Ohio ARES.

I am the author of Pro Open Source Mail: Building an Enterprise Mail Solution (Apress, 2006. 448pp.).

Past experience includes Systems Engineer for Cisco US Public Sector, network engineering for the Wexner Medical Center, wireless networking, Linux system administration, and SAN administration for the Max M. Fisher College of Business, and wireless networking and Linux system administration for a rural Ohio ISP.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from The Ohio State University, majoring in Philosophy.
