Carl's primary responsibility at the College for Creative Studies is to develop short and long-term strategies to sustain and promote innovation in teaching and learning with specific focus on the Learning Management System (LMS), online programs, and the refinement and implementation of professional development for faculty and staff.

Prior to joining CCS in 2023, Carl has 20+ years in higher education, workforce development, and K-12 education, serving in various capacities as a director, consultant, training director, faculty, instructional designer, and teacher. In each of these roles, Carl has been focused on improving the educational standard of those he serves in the areas of technology integration, curriculum development, and online learning.

Carl received his Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology and his Bachelor of Science degree in Education, both from Wayne State University. He has also completed all Ph.D. coursework in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology (EPET) program at Michigan State University. Carl also serves on several higher education and K-12 advisory groups.
