Damian Corbett is the founder and CEO of Making of a Mogul, LLC, a New Rochelle, NY-based fashion and entertainment advertising and marketing firm that represents photographers, stylists, models and designers. The company's website, MakingofAMogul.com, serves as a platform that keeps the globe abreast of all aspects of the fashion world, from industry icons to up-and-comers.

Corbett, a Harlem, NY native, who has served as a member of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, since 2010, holds over 15 years of executive consumer relations, merchandising and corporate sales experience. He is also an active member of the prestigious Fashion Group International (FGI).

Corbett's love for fashion developed at an early age. "I got my keen fashion sense from my parents, they have always been stylish and very well put together," says Corbett who, since his youth, always dressed a la mode and was considered by his peers as the best dressed.

Early on, he worked with The Ground Crew, the fashion industry's first backstage management company. There he gained a wealth of knowledge from his close friend, Michelle Chillis, and the company's CEO, Audrey Smaltz, who todate has made the International Best Dressed List three times. He also worked as a Tommy Hilfiger sales representative at Macy's.

Subsequently, he began working as a sales professional for a major automotive company. Nonetheless, after several years as one of the company's top representatives, he opted to leave the well-paying career (and hefty bonuses) to pursue his love for fashion.

In 2007, he opened Making of a Mogul and made major headway. However, on September, 11, 2011, in the wake of Hurricane Irene, the fashion aficionado experienced a major setback when he was forced to close his New Rochelle office after the company's headquarters suffered complete water damage.

"I don't know what I'm going to do," Corbett lamented when shortly after the storm a Journal News reporter asked him what he was going to do in light of the devastation. However, Corbett's hardship has made him a stronger entrepreneur.

"After months of groundwork I finally did away with the remnants of Hurricane Irene," he says. "I learned to pick up the pieces and keep moving forward. In July 2012, I am pleased to reopen the doors of a bigger and better Making of a Mogul. I look forward to continuing my mission--all for the love of fashion!"
