Damian Lidgard

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

I immigrated to Canada in 2004 to continue my work as a seal biologist. And then everything changed. My photography began to change but I couldn't understand why or know of its direction, until I discovered Miksang, a contemplative buddhist art form. After some study, my photographic style was transformed and grew stronger.

After being pushed to the side, my science also found its home in the Ocean Tracking Network: an international network of oceanographers, biologists and social scientists studying the movement and interactions of marine species.

And most recently, my healthy consumption of wine earnt me a creditation as a sommelier.
