Dan Bransford

Currently a student at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dan Bransford pursues his longstanding love of athletics while also continuing his studies in biology. He enrolled at Augsburg in 2010 and currently plays on the college’s football team. Quickly recognized for the dedication with which he approaches his studies, Dan Bransford earned a place on the Dean’s List during his first semester. Dan Bransford began pursuing sports at a young age. Throughout his years at Wayzata High School, he played football, lacrosse, soccer, and baseball. His primary interest has always been football, and he was part of the team for all four years of his high school. Interested in supplementing his studies with a wide array of professional opportunities, Dan Bransford has learned about operations in a number of industries. Involved in the hospitality business from a young age, he started as a Busboy at Sunsets, a restaurant in Wayzata. He worked his way through a variety of responsibilities, including assisting waiters, managers, and bar staff. Moving across town to Salsaritas Fresh Cantina, Dan Bransford greeted customers and took their orders, assisted with food preparation, and served as a cashier Dan Bransford also worked with hardware computer systems at Novia Networks. In addition to maintaining a careful inventory of the company’s in-house computer supplies, he disassembled and cleaned a variety of computer systems. Interested in teaching and leading young children, Dan Bransford also assisted in the logistical details of the Courage Retreat, a program offered by Youth Frontiers that organizes activities for middle school students to help them reach out into their community and develop long-lasting social ties. He also served as a volunteer at the local Fish-A-Thon, part of the Fish For Life organization. There, he instructed inner city children in the proper use of fishing equipment. In addition to imparting important skills, Mr. Bransford led these children throughout the day, making sure that they had a memorable and enjoyable outdoor experience.
