Daniel Montesinos

"Exotic" plant ecologist interested on adaptations occurring to invasive plant species across broad biogeographical ranges. Native from Spain, I have tried to "colonize" places like Wales, Brazil and the U.S. I am currently based in Portugal at the Center for Functional Ecology, Universidade de Coimbra.

Background pic: Ulex europaeus seeds with their charactersitic apendix called "elaiosome", a nutritious reward for mirmecochorous ants, which help disperse their seeds in exchange of these tiny bits of food. Ulex europaeus is native to Europe and invasive in America and Oceania.
