Daniel Gerendas

Budapest, Hungary

I was born in Budapest, Hungary on the 27th of May, 1997. I had started to play drums at the age of 3, at the initiative of my father Peter Gerendas, the famous Hungarian guitar virtuoso, singer and song writer. I was tutored for the first time at the age of 4. My first appearance in a concert hall took place at the age of 5 in the Budapest Congress Centre, where my father staged a Memorial Concert for George Harrison. As of the age of 5, I have also learnt to play South American percussion instruments. After the age of 6, I became the No.1 drummer in my father's band, with which we had many concerts both home and abroad. It was an important stage of my career, when I learnt rudimental drumming for 4 years at the Classical Percussion Faculty. Later on, I attended the Jazz Faculty of the Music Conservatory. I have a very broad musical palate, and play in Latin, pop, jazz, rock, and metal bands. I have so far contributed to several hundred concerts and played on many CDs.
