Dany Thivierge

Born in 1975 in Thetford mines, Quebec, Canada ... skipping to today: dad of 2 amazing girls and an active boy, husband of a wonderful and understanding wife, Worked over 20 years in IIT Projects as PM, BSA, SA. Also dabbed in entrepreneurial things by owning CanadaDrones.com a retail and distribution drone company, dealing with Walmart/Sams Club and many others.

Computer science graduate from Quebec just in time to work on the Y2K boom (it was a good gamble!) Worked for CGI consulting, Canadian Army as civilian tech consultant, Telecom/Media companies (Bell ExpressVu, Telus Mobility and now Telus Health) I have a very active corporate path involving high-end technology and high expectation to push the limits on a daily basis. Never really stopped to learn and not planning to change that any days.

I always had a great interest in computers, programming, tweaking and optimizing their hardware as well as software sides (hacking when it was not a bad word). Always tinkering with thing (now called a Maker)

Because it was never enough I also was an accomplished martial arts athlete, skydiver for fun, mountain bike rider, moguls runs skier and overall self-admitted adrenaline junky. D&D player, video game addict, car/motor guy... I am everywhere!

When looking at having new kind of fun with technology I got involved in the DIYDRONES community. It was the early days and just getting a Quad Copter to fly was an achievement. Seeing the Sci-Fi future was at our doors and fighting limitation was exciting. I quickly realized the business potential and lack of Canadian support, access to parts and fair prices for good quality components so I decided to open the online UAV store CanadaDrones.com

The future looks bright and fun and every day I look forward to the new challenges at hands. Thanks to my wife Julie to be so understanding and very supportive, we are a good team!
