Yang sheng 養生 is an important aspect of Daoism. It refers to “nurturing life”, and under this concept exist methods and practices. These practices throughout history were generally called dao yin 導引, though other names have also been used. Today a common term for methods derived from dao yin is ‘qigong’ 氣功.

We teach in small groups or privately. Utilising various forms of daoyin practice, with an overall emphasis upon nurturing the body through gathering, storing, and circulating the qi.

  • hou-tian gong (post-heaven practises)
  • xian-tian gong (pre-heaven practices)
  • jing gong (stillness practices)
  • tu-na fa (breathing methods)

We are members of the British Daoist Society and are instructors with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain (TCUGB), and certified instructors of qigong. We have spent time training in various countries outside the United Kingdom, such as China, Japan, America, Finland, and Canada.
