"Sometimes life just happens." One of my favorite professors (before I ever had her in class) mentioned this during my freshman orientation. My first thought was - "duh, life is happening all the time." Later, after having life happe over and over...I realized she was totally right. Life does just happen.
Little did I know the impact college would have on my personal and profesional growth. I wasn't sure what to expect, if I would be able to do it, or who I was going to become while attending college. What a sweet spot to be in, though, right?
My path has been winding and curvy, but I cannot imagine being in a feild other than student affairs. I am looking forward to my next opporutnity to challenge myself, students, and the institution. I've had a diverse background - traveling for Phi Mu for 2 years, mentoring foster youth and young women on probation, and most recently a NODA internship and Graduate Assistantship with a programming board. I've decided to stop worrying about knowing the exact right steps to take - because even then...life happens.
