Darlene Purcell

Oklahoma

Darlene Purcell, a native Texan, migrated to Oklahoma to enjoy more of the different seasons that inspire her creativity. Gifted in many of the arts such singing, playing the piano and guitar by ear, quilting and sewing, sketching portraits in charcoal, painting with acrylics, more recently crafting crystal jewelry that is selling in Dallas, her real love has always been weaving a story that captivates her audience.

Darlene has written poetry, short stories and several novels in various genres (horror, southern humor, sci fi, mystery, romance) as a hobby since the tender age of two. She even started and successfully moderated an interactive writer's group that boasted over 1300 writers on Yahoo and later at EONS for several years. "Singing Heart" is both the first novel she ever wrote and is the first to be published. It is dedicated in loving memory of her daughter Crystal Xzan whose sincerest wish was for the world to feel her mother's heart.
