David Hansen

I am currently working towards my BA in Convergence Journalism and minor in Computer Science at Lewis University. As a junior, I am serving as the Editor-In-Chief of the Lewis Flyer. After working as an Editorial Intern for the Frankfort and New Lenox Patches last summer, I currently produce content for Patch sites part-time.

Additionally, I have written and will be creating more press releases for Scott Flanagan Landscape throughout the winter. Designing fliers and collaborating on a portfolio book using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign CS6 are part of my tasks with the company, as well.

Nothing is more exhilarating to me than discovering new technology. The world is such a different place than it was when I was born in 1991. All I'm trying to do is keep up with the exciting and evolving features of this industry.

Outside of technology, sports are my biggest passion. Regardless of the level of play, watching and giving my opinion on sports gives me an adrenalin rush. Last fall, I covered high school football games in the south suburbs of Chicago each week for several Patch sites.

The part of technology that I am immensely fascinated with is social media. As the Editor-In-Chief of the Lewis Flyer, I oversee the publications award-winning six social media accounts. Also, I ran the New Lenox Patch's Facebook and Twitter accounts during my internship. Social media applications such as Storify and Spotify have been integrated into several of my stories that have been published. I also manage Facebook pages for a couple small businesses in the Chicagoland area using knowledge that I gain from being the social media club vice president at Lewis University.

Be sure to follow my thoughts on sports and social media on my Twitter handle.
