I write software that makes hard things simple. My current app, now in beta, is Cloak. Cloak keeps you safe from prying eyes on public wireless networks.

Prior to Cloak I ran Code Orange, a consultancy that helped clients make solid mobile + cloud technology decisions. Apps I worked on in that era include Walk Score and WhereBeUs. Here's a talk I gave at Google I|O about scaling with AWS and App Engine.

From 2002 through 2008 I was a full-time engineer at Microsoft. I arrived at MSFT via the acquision in November 2001 of EQuill, a small Bay Area dot-dom where I was the first employee.

Outside of software, I'm an atomkraft audio selektor, jazz piano student, and suprisingly adept maker of trouble.
