JUNIOR K (Riffs & Rays / Morlando)

A versatile and highly skilled DJ, Junior K has enjoyed an illustrious career. As a working DJ in and around South Yorkshire, even owning his own record shop, Junior has been at the forefront of the dance scene for over twenty years.

His talent and hard work was soon rewarded as Junior K’s career kicked into overdrive back in 2000, after he joined legendary dance group N-Trance, becoming an official member and their tour DJ.

After years on the road, working on and helping promote a string of their top 10 hits, including club staple Set You Free and Forever, Junior decided it was time to move on.

He went on to form remix and production team Riffs & Rays with fellow producer Phil Pendlebury. The team became a highly respected commodity and inked a deal with record label All Around The World in 2003, with their first production.

2005 saw Riffs & Rays strike gold with their massive production of Inaya Day’s UK Top 10 Smash, Nasty Girl, which propelled them into the limelight delivering the year’s Club and Chart Anthem. To date the track is still only the SECOND RECORD IN UK HISTORY TO BE PLAYED TWICE IN A ROW ON NATIONAL RADIO 1. The track was lauded as Pete Tong’s Essential Tune of the Week and eventually hit the UK Top 10 Singles Chart at no.9.

Riffs & Rays became hot property with countless record labels, artists and producers demanding the guys work on their projects. So highly sought after that, while producing Madonna’s hugely successful, Confessions on a Dance Floor album, Stuart Price still found time to commission them to remix his top 10 single, Jaques Yr Body.

Since then Junior has masterminded a string of memorable club hits, having produced and remixed for artists including: MICHAEL JACKSON, AKON, LADY GAGA, MARY J BLIGE & CHAKA KHAN, THE SATURDAYS, SHONTELLE, GIRLS CAN’T CATCH, ULTRA NATE, DANNI MINOGUE, MASTERS AT WORK to name a few.

As a working DJ, Junior has finger firmly on the pulse of the latest trends in dance and commercial music. A hiatus from Riffs & Rays has seen Junior dabble in other sub-genres and projects including his Kong Project release Be Me with Soulful US diva Sheree Hicks on Maison records, Back 2U (under the Rhythm Jackers alias) as well as launching his own successful events company Meridian entertainment.

Notably, Junior has once again propelled himself back into the game at ful
