Noted LASIK surgeon Dr. David Donelson serves as Medical Director of Donelson Eye Associates, PA, in Greenville, South Carolina. Recognized as one of the country’s leading ophthalmologists for cataract and refractive surgery, he has performed more than 6,000 LASIK procedures and more than 23,000 cataract surgeries. Dr. David Donelson recently received recognition by a national consumer research group for his outstanding work in this advanced field. His expertise in the area has allowed him to establish a referral basis with more than 100 doctors, many of whom have used him for their own personal eye surgeries.

At his Greenville practice, Dr. David Donelson diagnoses and treats cataracts, keratoconus, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, among other conditions, with the most advanced technologies. He performs complex LASIK eye surgeries at TLC Laser Eye Centers to correct refractive errors such as astigmatism, myopia, presbyopia, and hyperopia. Opening Donelson Eye Associates in 1987, Dr. Donelson previously worked with Easley Eye Associates, PA, after gaining certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. In addition, from 1996 to 1998, he acted as Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology for the Greenville Hospital System and for Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

Dr. David Donelson began his undergraduate education at the University of Missouri, where he studied journalism, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from George Mason University in Virginia. He performed his graduate work at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he majored in organic chemistry. In 1981, Dr. Donelson earned his medical degree at USC’s School of Medicine. He interned at Richland Memorial Hospital and completed a residency at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences Department of Ophthalmology in Memphis, where he served as Chief Resident from 1984 to 1985.
