David Barrie

I am the founder and principal partner of an advisory organisation and project production company that enables capital growth in cities and the improvement of people's lives.

We design, deliver and manage public programmes and ventures that support urban development, investors and communities; and affiliate Micheal Pyner and me have enabled over £1bn of new investment in towns, cities and neighbourhoods.

As a social entrepreneur, I have founded several for-profit and non-profit enterprises, won nationally significant awards and worked in the UK, Russia, China and Canada.

Recent and current social ventures that I have founded include Wild Blue Cohort, a business angel investment network, and The People's Supermarket, a pioneering retail co-operative in London.

My passion for creating new public experience stems from an on-going career as a producer, director and show runner of television programmes for broadcasters in the UK and USA.

I have just completed a landmark series of three documentary films for BBC TV/Worldwide on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte, presented by historian Andrew Roberts, and a short film designed by graphic artist Peter Anderson for the Heritage Lottery Fund.
