David F. Carr

Writer, Editor, and Consultant in Coral Springs, Florida

After decades of work as a technology journalist, I entered 2015 as a technology evangelist, executive ghost writer, and author of white papers and case studies. I am the author of Social Collaboration for Dummies and a former Editor at Large at InformationWeek, where I covered (at various times) social business, education technology, healthcare IT, and government IT.

I'm currently blogging for Forbes and seeking speaking engagements on social networks, collaboration technology, and digital business more broadly. While working as Chief Evangelist for Redbooth, I presented 10 Keys to Collaboration for an Agile Enterprise at Interop (webcast version here).

I am an active Toastmaster and recipient of the Advanced Communicator Bronze and Competent Leader, and Leadership Excellence awards (due to level up again soon). Past President of Club Awesome Toastmasters in Coral Springs, FL, and a current Area Governor. Creator of WordPress for Toastmasters, which started as a hack for Club Awesome and is now offered as open source or a hosted offering on a site I operate.

As a web developer, biggest bragging rights are my WordPress plugins, particularly RSVPMaker for event scheduling, reservations and PayPal payments. I also serve as a technical advisor and troubleshooter to Broward Bulldog, a local nonprofit news website.
