David Lasco

Gary, IN

Through his studies and pursuit of extracurricular experience, university student David Lasco has demonstrated an in-depth understanding of government and international relations. He is currently studying toward his Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science at Indiana University Northwest, and he spent the most recent summer as an intern in the United States House of Representatives. An aide to Congressman Todd Rokita of Indiana's Fourth Congressional District, David Lasco answered correspondence, gave guided office tours, and managed the Congressman's daily schedule.

David Lasco comes to his current studies following secondary education at Crown Point High School and Culver Military Academy. He matriculated at Culver in 2005 and soon became president of his class. Achieving the highest possible academic ranking, David Lasco garnered the attention of a major national youth leadership organization, which invited him in 2006 to participate in mock trials at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Additionally, David Lasco has participated in numerous business, law, and government-related extracurricular groups over the course of his education. He has been a member of the Latin Club, the Law Club, the Republican's Club, and the International Business Club. He has also participated in the National League of Junior Cotillions, which teaches ethics and etiquette to young people.

In his free time, David Lasco enjoys domestic as well as international travel, particularly that which includes a cultural learning component. He also participates actively in a variety of sports, from snowboarding to shooting. He holds a lifetime membership in the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and pursues motocross interests as a member of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). Furthermore, Mr. Lasco has become a skilled ice hockey player, lacrosse player, boating enthusiast, and snowboarder.
