David Lee is the Chief Technology Officer and one of the co-founders at Sleepy Giant Entertainment, Inc., a company backed by TPG Capital focused on partnering with forward-thinking IP owners to design, launch, operate, and grow entertainment publishing platforms. With more than 2 decades of experience in engineering, product development and operations, David started Sleepy Giant after serving as K2 Network’s vice president of Infrastructure and Engineering. Recognized as a leader in the game industry for his work with network systems and security, in 2006 David was nominated for the Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Award Program, which is presented to an executive who excels in risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security. Before joining K2, David held various management positions at Managed Objects (acquired by Novell), including overseeing engineering operations. Prior to Managed Objects, he served as the CTO for M-Code Software (acquired by Managed Objects). David also worked for Global Telecom Solutions Center, the research and development arm of Motorola's wireless and satellite infrastructure division (Iridium), as well as co-founded and served as vice president for Vision Bridge Technologies Group. In 1997, David was recognized by Motorola for being instrumental in achieving SEI/CMM level five compliance, making the company only the third organization in the world to achieve that rating, as he played a key role in the process improvement. In 2000, M-Code's Software Nervous System™ won Oracle's Most Innovative technology Award at Oracle Open World. Additionally, David played an integral role in establishing the foundations for Sun Microsystem's SunTone Service Excellence Program. Currently, he is a member of the Purdue University Academic Board, and on the Advisory boards for companies such as Inversoft and Longtail CDN.
