Standing at six feet four inches, Baltimore native, Dawan Owens for some reason has never had a problem commanding an audience’s attention. A stand-out on his high school football and baseball teams, Dawan walked on to the University of Pittsburgh’s football team, and later joined their baseball team. “When people ask me if I played football in college, I ask them to define what they mean by ‘play.’ If playing means being on the team, then oh yeah, I played. But if by ‘play’, they meanparticipation in an actual intercollegiate athletic event – if they want to get all technical – I plead the fifth.” After graduating from Pitt, with a Bachelor’s in Information Science, Dawan began workingin Corporate America for an IT consulting firms. But he soon realized that comedy was his true calling, so he decided to pick up a microphone and go after his dream. After performing on Comedy Central’s Open Mic Fight, Dawan booked his first ever acting job as a Series Regular on the Bobby Lee Pilot and hasn’t stopped working since. With a recent appearance on Southland, NCIS: LA, New Girl, Criminal Minds, and a break out recurring role of Fuse’s first scripted series, The Hustle, Dawan has been making his mark in the acting world. He recently made his big screen debut in alongside the likes of Felicity Huffman, Amanda Peet and Sam Rockwell in the film Trust Me directed by Clark Gregg.
