Dawn Diamantopoulos
Northwest Indiana
I was raised in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, which I happily left, to attend college at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I received a BFA in Fine Arts in 1992, having majored in Fine Arts – Printmaking and minored in the History of Art. Feeling a bit jaded and world-weary with New York City, I relocated to Southern California, where I continued drawing, painting, and photographing. My “real job” eventually brought me to Chicago, where I stopped creating artwork and started creating a family. I have lived in Northwest Indiana for over a dozen years with my husband and two sons.
Four years ago I began creating artwork again, which I fully credit with keeping me almost sane. My artwork often revolves around memories, both good and bad. I consider myself a painter, but also draw and have begun printmaking again, sometimes separately and sometimes all together. I have lots of ideas and not enough time.
