Cary is a seasoned wireless telecommunications attorney who joined the law firm of Blooston Mordkofsky Dickens Duffy & Prendergast in 1995. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in 1981 and Dartmouth College in 1985 (A.B. English). Cary went on to earn a Master's in Magazine Journalism at the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 1986 and a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law in 1993. Cary is admitted to the bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia and is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association. Prior to his career in law, Cary was a writer/editor, PR guy and utility infielder for several television and live-entertainment production companies including a two-year stint with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. I was never actually fired from the canon but I still have a nifty jumpsuit.

In the aftermath of the January 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti, Cary worked as a volunteer at the Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC where he helped organize a team of volunteers and members of the local Haitian Diaspora in establishing an integrated crisis information web site and volunteer portal. The experience introduced him to individuals who were using social media platforms and online tools in new and creative ways for the public good. This led him to co-found a volunteer organization called Humanity Road, Inc., as a way to standardize and implement "best practices" in identifying urgent needs and educating the public on where to find aid, food, shelter, hospitals and first aid during a catastrophic event. Visit Humanity Road's web site at www.humanityroad.org to find out more about this amazing little organization and volunteer if you are interested!

Humanity Road is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has earned the www.Guidestar.org Exchange Seal for transparency in reporting, has been named one of the top 10 nonprofit disaster response organizations by www.greatnonprofits.org
