Humanitarian Professional and Disability Inclusion Specialist in Africa and Europe region
Deborah Brown Majekodunmi is a Funding Strategy Specialist focused on how social impact organisations secure, structure, and sustain funding at scale.
As a Grant Acquisition expert working at the intersection of humanitarian action, development programming, and long-term organisational sustainability, She brings extensive experience securing and structuring funding from leading institutional donors, including USAID, European Union, ECHO, FCDO, UN agencies, and Global Affairs Canada, alongside private foundations and corporate partners.
Her work focuses on supporting organisations to move beyond fragmented fundraising approaches towards more intentional, diversified, and resilient funding architectures. She has contributed to the design and acquisition of funding for multi-sectoral programmes across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
Deborah’s field experience spans humanitarian and development contexts in Ukraine, Nigeria, South Sudan, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone. She has worked with international organisations such as Mercy Corps, World Vision, the SDGs Project Support Office, and People in Need, contributing to large-scale, multi-sectoral programmes.
She currently serves as Funding Manager at Christian Blind Mission (CBM) in Germany, where she leads global grant acquisition and institutional partnerships to strengthen programme delivery globally.
Beyond her core work in funding strategy, Deborah is the creator of #MyAccessibilityLens, a platform exploring practical accessibility across humanitarian contexts, digital systems, and the built environment. She integrates perspectives from UX design to advance inclusive and accessible solutions within global development.
Deborah is a fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, the Erasmus Programme, and the Clinton Global Initiative. She holds a Master’s degree in International Humanitarian Action (NOHA+), alongside additional qualifications in Development Management and Law. Her work also includes academic research and publications focused on disability inclusion in humanitarian and development settings.
