Deborah Koricke

After graduating from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Deborah Koricke earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Koricke completed her studies in forensic psychiatry and psychology at University Hospitals in Cleveland, where she audited coursework and gained practicum experience in a program directed by renowned forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick. At Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Dr. Resnick gave Dr. Deborah Koricke permission to audit his courses on civil and criminal cases, as well as forensic psychiatry and psychology.

Today, Dr. Deborah Koricke acts as President of the Cleveland-based Center for Effective Living, Inc., a leading psychotherapy practice serving Northeast Ohio for more than three decades. Overseeing daily business and clinical operations, Dr. Koricke ensures that her diverse staff has up-to-date training to handle an array of issues ranging from mental illness disorders to communication troubles. She also conducts required psychological evaluations of possible patients for bariatric, or weight loss, surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Deborah Koricke performs psychological evaluations and testing, counseling, and forensic evaluations on behalf of lawyers and courts, and has served as an expert witness during several court cases. Dr. Deborah Koricke belongs to a number of organizations related to her profession, including the Cleveland Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, and The Center for Principled Family Advocacy, which trains lawyers and specialists and offers information to people facing divorce and custody matters. Devoted to her community, Dr. Koricke donates to and has served as a board member of the Cleveland Foodbank. She enjoys traveling in her spare time.
