Deepit Purkayastha

I aspire to be an entrepreneur based in India. The vision I see for which I do whatever I do, is that I feel equality of knowledge needs to be created in the world we live today. Equality of knowledge solves many problems faced by millions in our country as well as elsewhere.
Spirituality is something that is very close to me. I believe that experiential knowledge is the only form of knowledge. Yes, I am impulsive at times.

Although I am a Bengali by mother tongue as well as my father’s mother tongue and his father's mother tongue and his father's mother tongue .... upto about 25 generations (a calculated guesstimate), I have never stayed in any part of Bengal until I got admission into the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur which happens to be in the West Midnapur district of West Bengal. My father’s service in a Public Sector Undertaking gave me the chance to live at various places throughout India. I was born in Jodhpur, the days of which my memory is almost void, if not completely, as I, along with my parents shifted to Silchar in Assam. Before I was seven, the company’s orders called for my father to Dehradun. So there I was at the gates of my prestigious school St. Joseph’s Academy, as a seven year old. There again I was seeing of my best friends at those same gates when after my ICSE examination, my family had decided to move to New Delhi, my father’s new posting. After a two year slog time preparing for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination, and some wonderful moments representing Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj at inter-schools I reach the place of dreams for myself and many the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

My association with music started at an early age of 8, I was already learning the how to play the Tabla from Guruji P.K. Nandi and later from Guruji Abhijit Chattopadhyay. Although I am still deeply connected to Tabla, I have now matured as a hand percussionist with a keen added interest in the playing the keyboard and the mouth harmonica.
