Dejana Ponos is the proud mother of a eleven-year-old teeneger, Sofi, with whom she lives in the countryside near Podgorica. She is the executive director at Arhimed, a company which for more than a decade archives media reports in digital form and makes them available to researchers. Her greatest virtue (and vice) is being available to clients and employees 24/7 as she believes people deserve individual access and personal support, which complicates tasks as well as managerial responsibilities. A Master of Business Management and Marketing, now completing her senior year in Business Psychology as well, Dejana’s wish is to link her interests with practical knowledge, including HR, sales, and management. Her free time is spent with an eye on society – and for Sofi’s sake – as she believes we can leave our children a better world. Volunteering under the Parents Association, Dejana fights with other members for parents’ rights and the rights of single-parent families in Montenegro. She is one of the founders of NGO Tinker, that in 2022 organized “Kangaroo without borders” and “Bebras” competitions for children, for the first time in Montenegro. She finds satisfaction in proposing new solutions, studying social phenomena, as well as proposing amendments to legislation where necessary. She provides great personal support to the inclusion of persons with disabilities through educational and professional training projects. Aware that lifelong learning is necessary, she considers further education and knowledge exchange an integral part of her life. She teaches her daughter Sofi that anything can be accomplished with effort and perseverance.
