Delbert Ballou

An entrepreneur residing in Chicago, Delbert Ballou draws on a background in a variety of industries, in particular loan processing and insurance. His first position, as an Administrative Assistant at a Hawaii company called Capital Research Group, Inc., enabled him to gain a wealth of experience in the arena of loan processing. In this role, Mr. Ballou assisted clients in every phase of their loan applications, acting as liaison between them, the title company, and the lender. He also reviewed U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development statements and good faith estimates, arranged home appraisals, and provided clients with crucial information regarding financials and new homes. In addition, Delbert Ballou prepared invoices and posted payments for office vendor accounts and maintained a monthly status report. Mr. Ballou continued to gain experience in the field while serving as a Loan Processor for Jeffrey Samuels Realty LLC, where he managed mortgage applications, ordered appraisals and coordinated insurance matters, and ensured that closing documents were submitted correctly and on time. Delbert Ballou served as a Senior Insurance Agent at DM Insurance from 2007 until 2009. He assisted customers with updating and/or changing their homeowner and automobile policies and requested reinstatements of policies from the underwriting department. In this position, Mr. Ballou familiarized himself with a number of software programs, including Clarify and ImageWriter. Over the years, Mr. Ballou also developed customer service skills as Help Desk Technician for a leading administrative Web-based software provider and worked in the collections department for a Hawaii law firm specializing in legal matters related to condominium ownership. Delbert Ballou currently owns and operates Milo Freight Services, a Chicago, Illinois-based freight brokering business that he opened in 2008. After he graduated from Penn Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Delbert Ballou enrolled in The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he obtained an Associate degree in Art History. Four years later, his next educational pursuit took him to Hawaii. He enrolled at Hawai'i Pacific University and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in international business and economics in 2006. Mr. Ballou plans to pursue his Master of Business Administration in the next year.
