I'm a sometimes-traveler, an always-writer and a lifelong student. I'm interested in social justice, human rights law, international politics, micro-finance and social enterprise. I believe we must understand people first if we are to help them, and that people never fail to surprise and humble me.

By day, I work in Communications at Accion, an international organization devoted to financial inclusion, investing in the future of microfinance, and improving the standards fo the microfinance industry to protect and serve clients.

I'm a photographer and travel blogger focused on socially responsible, culturally-rich travel off the beaten path. I love documenting everyday moments in foreign cultures, as well as capturing the emotion of special events like non-profit fundraisers and community activism. I enjoy volunteering with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and much of my activism focuses on gender-based violence, including sexual violence and street harassment.

I love literature and languages--I'm currently working to improve my Arabic. I always carry a book, even at parties. I think everything is political, and I love a good argument.

I've spent time in Cuba, Egypt, Greece, Benin, France, and the Dominican Republic, among others, but Boston will always be my home. I travel slow, going back to the same places over and over so I can really sink my teeth in. My favorite countries are always finding something new to teach me, whether it be about how better to understand and change the world, or about the very nature of people. I love leading college groups abroad and domestically, and I'll never turn down a chance to go to Cuba legally.

I want to save the world; I am currently accepting proposals for the "how" part.
