I am a writer, blogger, and space exploration advocate. I am also a classical environmentalist (the kind who believes in good stewardship, not the annihilation of humanity), a fan of Star Wars and Sherlock Holmes, and a rare soda enthusiast.

I think that too often we forget that government is a part of society. Not all of society, not something seperate from society, a part of it. Specifically, it's the part that protects the rest of it. Government must protect people's right to themselves, their ideas, their lives, their time. If the government tries to do more, they fail.
