Derrick Waddell is the Instructional Technology Support Specialist for Cullman County Schools. Having been a teacher and school technology coordinator for seven years and serving in his current role for three, he has seen firsthand the benefits of technology in the classroom.

In 2004, Derrick received a BS in Secondary Education Language Arts from the University of North Alabama. Since that time he has taught English at all high school grade levels, drama, television production, and computer applications classes. In 2010, Derrick was honored with the Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award at the Alabama Educational Technology Conference. In May of 2012, he received a M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership and will graduate in April with an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Derrick is also a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer.
