Detavio Samuels

At the age of 34, Detavio is one of corporate America's youngest executives and has helped some of the world's biggest companies (including Walmart, Chrysler LLC, NBA and Johnson & Johnson) build their brands and connect to consumers.

Currently Detavio works at Radio One Inc, the nation's leading urban media company, where he operates as the President of One Solution. In this role, Detavio heads up the company's cross-platform sales division as well as, CIPHER, the company's branded entertainment agency and Samuels' brainchild. Based on Detavio's long history of success in the branded entertainment space, he created CIPHER with one purpose in mind: to inject brands into pop culture by "coding" brand narratives into content and experiences audiences would actually choose to consume.

Detavio is also the founder The Bare Group: a holding company for many of his ideas including: Bare Thinking, his consulting firm; Bare Publishing, which published his first book, Exist No More, and Bare Studios, his film and content division.

Detavio has been recognized for his work on both the marketing and personal development fronts with awards such as: 40 Under 40 (Crain's Detroit, 2013), Men of Excellence (Michigan Chronicle, 2012), Power 30 Under 30 (The Apex Society, 2011) and Top Executives In Marketing and Advertising (Black Enterprise, 2011).

When asked to summarize what he has accomplished at such a young age, Detavio says: "I believe in God, dreaming big and winning. I just want to demonstrate what a life based on those three things can look like and to provide a framework for my generation on how to achieve success in their life."
