I am a music professional with broad experience in label management, digital content management, licensing, sales, distribution (digital and physical), marketing and A&R;, label management, digital content coordination, and as equally important, the fervor and work ethic required of being an artist. A high caliber of talent around me at a young age and passion for music is what led me to the journey I am on now. As DJ Catharsis, I have been spinning records for the past 20 years and producing music for 14. My musical inspirations are rooted in spirituality and the creative influence from my father, a professional jazz musician and educator. I see electronic music as eclectic and inclusive, where artists can take any influence or feeling and create with it. I use Protools with the same improvisational spirit my father uses the guitar and piano. He is a traditionally dedicated, hard core jazz musician. I am just a creative mind using technology and organized sounds. Kevin Yost, Dzihan & Kamien, Matthias Vogt, Bugge Wesseltoft, and Jazzanova are a few of my many contemporary influences. The jazz greats Herbie Hancock, Bill Laswell, Oscar Peterson, John Coltrane, Sun Ra and father Jack Petersen are my musical foundation. Straight ahead jazz and all its dialects are freedom. Music is freedom. This freedom inspires me to always be involved in new projects. I am one half of PC Synergy. Since 2000, I have partnered with gifted engineer Phil Green, providing the production force and extreme talent. Phil and Catharsis have been signed to numerous electronic music labels worldwide including OM Records and have appeared on CD compilations alongside Depeche Mode, Moby, Faithless, Dubtribe Sound System, Swayzak, and many more. We have over 50 vinyl releases, 3 full-length albums entitled "Keepin On" and "Deep Down" & "Canvas of Sound", and appeared on 40 CD compilations on labels around the world.
