Donald Harwood Frozen River

An executive producer of the Oscar-nominated film Frozen River, attorney Donald Harwood has more than three decades of trial and appellate experience. He established his career in Boston, where he gained success in criminal defense litigation and constitutional law advocacy. After he relocated to New York City, Donald Harwood became a partner at Itkowitz & Harwood, an AV-rated boutique law firm, where he was responsible for a broad range of commercial cases, such as landlord-tenant disputes, real estate brokerage cases, and construction litigation. Subsequently, he established Harwood Reiff, LLC, a boutique litigation firm, where he handles commercial, real estate, and appellate litigation, as well as sophisticated criminal defense work.
In 2008, Donald Harwood entered the field of entertainment law when he served as executive producer of the critically acclaimed movie Frozen River, which his wife wrote and directed. As production counsel for the film, he also prepared and negotiated contracts and agreements and offered guidance and advice about legal issues throughout the filmmaking process.
Donald Harwood graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from St. Lawrence University and earned his JD from Northeastern University’s School of Law.
