Violeta Donawa

Violeta Donawa, doctoral candidate, examines racial ideologies and the impact of social media on identity. More specifically, her research looks into the use of social media spaces as places of resistance for AfroLatina/o persons.

She has two publications, entitled, “Exploring the Afro-Latino Presence: The Afro-Panamanian Experience in Michigan” in the journal, Negritud: Revista De Estudios Afro-Latinoamericanos and “Defining and Documenting Afro-Latin America” in the journal, Latin American and Caribbean Ethnic Studies. Two additional articles are currently under review.
