Don Bernard
Don Bernard has achieved a wide range of success throughout his long career. Having earned a Bachelor’s Degree, Juris Doctor, and Master of Laws from The University of Texas at Austin, Don Bernard was certified from the State Bar of Texas, United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Early in his law career, Don Bernard spent consecutive years as the Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas and a Briefing Attorney for The Supreme Court of Texas.
After excelling in these positions, Donald Ray Bernard opened his own law firm and became a Partner at Bernard & Bernard. During his 20 years with the firm, Don Bernard held highly ranked positions with several other organizations. In addition to being the President of the Houston Lawyers Association for one year, Donald Bernard was the Chairman of the Board of Adjustment for Hedwig Village for four years and served on the Board of Directors for the National Kidney Foundation for three years. He was also a member of the faculty of Southwestern School of Real Estate for nine years.
For the majority of his early career, Don Bernard served in the Navy, retiring in 1975 after 19 years as a Commander. From 1970 to 1980, Don Bernard flew as an Air Show Pilot for the Confederate Air Force. A Licensed Commercial Pilot, Don Bernard is an expert in single- and multi-engine fixed-wing aircrafts as well as 41 other airplanes including jet, prop, and turboprop. Donald Bernard is currently a Certified Mountain Search Pilot for the Montana Emergency Services.
Following two decades with Bernard & Bernard, Don Bernard operated a private practice for 14 years before entering the education field. Starting as a Professor of International Law at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, Donald Ray Bernard next served for a year with Montana State University as a Guest Lecturer for the College of Business.
