Stephen Banks

Increasingly known by the pseudonym 'DorsetScouser', I moved down to West Dorset after finishing a Graphic Design course at The University of Wales, Newport. I moved to Bridport soon afterwards. Originally from the buzzing city of Liverpool (funnily enough), but I love living and working here. I'm one of the fortunate ones with a job, and one that I thoroughly enjoy. I work as a Digital Executive for Watershed PR.

I'm a renowned landscape astrophotographer, with images published on the front covers of calendars, magazines and books. In July 2013, my photograph of Durdle Door was featured as the Guardian Eyewitness photo of the day, being printed as the centre-page spread in the national newspaper. The same image is on the front cover of the Astronomy Photographer of the Year Collection 2 book, sold internationally.

Constantly taking photographs in my spare time, I am hoping to build up enough of a body of work to put together an exhibition locally and sell prints and canvasses of my images. You can view all of my best work on my website,

I have also built up a large local news and events Facebook page, bridport n0tice, which has over 6,500 'likes' to date.

Cameras and photography (particularly street photography), live music, cycling, tennis, graphic design, art, video, social media, good times with friends, people watching, local news, driving my go-kart (Suzuki Swift with go-faster stripes/chequered roof).
